About Sue Crofton

I am a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist. After completing trainings in psychotherapy and counselling at Spectrum  in 1998, I was accredited in 2000 and registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) in 2001.  I work to the UKCP Code of Ethics.

In 2001, I trained in couples counselling with Jill Gabriel

I am in continuing professional development.  This includes regular supervision and therapy.

As well as working with individuals and couples I run themed groups and workshops.

My experience includes counselling in an NHS general practice, the Domestic Violence Intervention Project and Victim Support.

I have considerable experience in work counselling, including redundancy, bullying, discrimination, stress and career change. Other areas of interest are self-esteem, bereavement and loss, ageing and childlessness.

With  colleagues I have set up a  consortium of experienced therapists in North West and Central London. For further information see www.accreditedcounsellors.org.uk

My background is in human resource management and training  and I still consult in these areas.   I have a BSc. in Social Policy and an MSc. in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from the London School of Economics.  I am a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.

Prior to training as a psychotherapist I lived and worked in Germany as a technical translator and interpreter.
